It plays many important roles – storing water, holding back snow to prevent drift and melt, food for birds, condensation which creates rain that ends up in rivers. But the trees are dying, killed by rogue beetles, fires, and climate change more broadly. Guests: Anthony Sharwood, journalist and author of several books about Australia's High Country. Co-author with Anna Langford of ‘The last snow gum’ (Hachette, Sept 2026) Anna Langford, co-author of 'The last snow gum'. Climate activist Producer: Ann Arnold
